Framed Transportation Artwork
Whether we prefer to travel by land, by sea, or by air framed transportation art has something for everyone. Traveling by sea is one of the oldest methods of travel and many artists have made it their passion, such artists would include William James Aylward , Maria Antonia Torres, and Salvador Dali.
Even Claude Monet painted boats on the water in his painting “Argenteuil.”
There are moments in history that everyone remembers and to have those moments captured through photography is magical. The first successful flight of the Wright Brothers is one of those moments as well as the F-51 Mustang warplane in flight. Either one of these framed transportation photos would be great in an airport waiting area or in a history classroom.
Thinking about framed transportation artwork one cannot forget to include trains and the mighty steam engines that started it all. Steve Forney, Paul Detlefson, and Thomas Hart Benton are all artists that have a knack for bringing the railroad to life through art. “Ten Pound Hammer” is an excellent painting portraying the laying for the original tracks across the country.
Artists have made transportation art from things that some of us forget to consider in the category of transportation framed art. For example, they have included bicycles, race cars, and things that align with the transportation world such as; gas stations and lighthouses. Anthony Morrow brings a childlike theme to his work in the transportation art category with pieces like "Happy Hauling."
