Framed Ground Transportation Prints
For centuries, ground transportation was the only form of transportation for the masses, with ships carrying only a fraction of the goods and people. Nowadays, airplanes make it easy to cover long distances and the world has become a smaller place since they were introduced.
FramedArt.com has some great framed ground transportation prints celebrating all the vehicles that use the intricate road system to carry people or cargo around.
A distinction needs to be made between public and private transportation systems, with the former including taxis, shuttles, railroads and buses. Back in the day people used to rely on them much more than they do today, when virtually anyone can afford a car. These vehicles are the most numerous ones and it comes as no surprise that they are also the ones appearing in most of the framed ground transportation prints. Taxis are painted in specific colors to help people differentiate between them and regular vehicles, while buses, trucks and other specialized vehicles also stand out from the crowd.
When it comes to private ground transportation, rental cars and limousines are the norm and they tend to blend in nicely. Among the framed transportation prints available here, there are dozens dedicated to bicycles and motorcycles. They appeal mostly to those who don’t like the confinement of a car and have a free spirit that requires them to spend time away from the city jungle. While they require some effort and lack the comfort of streetcars, they make this trade off easy to accept as they offer freedom in exchange.
