Christian Framed Art
Framed Christian Art does far more than to enhance the existing decor and is in fact a sacred art that makes good use of imagery and themes from religion. FramedArt.com can provide Catholics and art lovers alike with a nice assortment of paintings that depict the iconic characters of this religion. Jesus is at the cornerstone of most of the art prints, with angels, archangels and saints being assigned equally prominent roles in religious paintings.
Over the centuries, Framed Christian Art underwent multiple changes and for relatively long periods of time, iconoclasm disrupted the flow. Depending on the branch of faith, some characters, such as the Virgin Mary and saints are seen more or less often in Catholic art. Compared to other religions that prohibit figurative representations, Christianity is far more flexible and this explains why the number of paintings is significantly higher.
The oldest Christian art goes back to the second century and paintings were discovered in the catacombs of Rome. The movement took off during the time of Constantine Christian, the Emperor that adopted this religion and some of the best Framed Christian Art and Framed Catholic Art are dedicated to those times. An important milestone was the fall of Constantinople in 1453 which marked the end of Byzantine art and paintings were mostly commissioned in the West. The Last Supper and Creation of Adam are the best known works of art of the Renaissance and the movement enjoyed another resurgence in the 19th century.
