Angel Art

Angels are regarded as the ones guiding and protecting human beings, while also conveying the message of God and helping people stay on the right track. There is even a theological study of these creatures and it goes by the name of angelology, not to mention thousands of paintings celebrating Angels. The scenes and backgrounds differ greatly, but the creatures themselves are more or less the same, with all of them featuring birdlike wings, robes, a halo and they are quite often engulfed in glowing light.

Framed Angel Art have the particularity of brilliantly capturing the fact that the image and concepts of angels transcended religions and many of them were adopted to take new representations. The vast majority of paintings don’t go to great lengths to identify the angels by name and instead they are regarded as generally creatures dedicated to serving the bigger purpose. Archangels on the other way, are much easier to identify, with Gabriel and Michael being by far the most prominent ones and also the protagonists of countless paintings.
