Framed Hymn Art

Not all of the hymns include instrumental accompaniment, with some of them being sang by voice alone while only a fraction don’t make use of words. Framed Hymn Art has been celebrated in Western cultures starting from Homeric times, when some of the earliest Greek hymns were created. Back then, they used to focus on the Greek deities and their format changed several times, with the Latin versions also being known as psalms.

Christian hymnody was actually based on the psalms and made good use of poetic passages, with the vast majority of them praising Jesus and God. Nowadays, artists have slightly different approach, with the posters brilliantly combining powerful images with written text. This combination makes it easier for the artist to convey the message to the audience, as there is an indissoluble link between the text and the background image.
