Framed Hot Air Balloon Artwork
More than two centuries ago, the first hot-air balloon took off and it was produced by two Frenchmen, who tested their device in Paris. It was the first successful flight technology and even though they are no longer the main choice for air transportation, FramedArt.com has assembled an entire collection of framed hot-air balloon prints.
Nowadays, they are routinely used for entertainment purposes by those who want to travel long distances in a truly original fashion.
Also known as thermal airships, some hot-air balloons can be propelled and controlled easily through air and carry people across long distances. They drift with the wind rather than advance against it and that’s why they are not too easy to navigate or too effective for reaching remote destinations. A quick glance at the framed hot air balloon prints, will highlight the fact that most of them are colorful and feature intriguing designs. They are not all about serving a practical purpose, but mostly for entertainment and in many countries, they have the same status as ultralight aircraft.
Just as the name suggests, balloons have the envelope filled with heated air, while people sit in a wicker basket. Framed hot-air balloon prints also highlight the fact that some of these aircraft feature a capsule instead of the basket, which makes them suitable to fly at high altitude. The difference between balloons filled with gas and the ones using hot-air for buoyancy is that the latter aren’t sealed at the bottom.
