Framed Baseball Art
Baseball is essentially an American sports, played by tens of thousands and enjoyed by millions but it was invented by the English. FramedArt.com has a couple of vintage framed Baseball Posters, but the vast majority of artwork revolves around the athletes that the headlines today.
Those who want to set up a comprehensive collection dedicated to a particular franchise, will find posters such as Yankee Boys or photos of Yankee Stadium a must have.
The synergy between players makes a team great, but there are also iconic athletes who sometimes can single-handedly win matches. Black-and-white images of Babe Ruth or Ted Williams batting are among the classic framed Baseball Posters. Most baseball games are actually won by starting pitchers and the players in the bullpen, but hard-hitting athletes are always immensely popular with the crowds. Ruth and Williams were all-round baseball players, which explains their enduring success.
Ty Cobb and shoeless Joe Jackson feature side-by-side in memorable framed Baseball Posters and there are just as many images dedicated to Jackie Robinson stealing home. Black athletes had to overcome many obstacles decades ago and the ones who stood tall and beat the odds now act as an example for others. Memorable images of the Yankee Stadium opening day in 1923 or the World Series match in Pittsburgh in 1960 are as powerful as they get. Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig and Honus Wagner are all legendary figures and the images feature them in action or in a contemplative pose.
