Artist Jay Zinn (Born 1951) was born in Dayton, Ohio. He studied art at the Central Academy of Commercial Arts in Cincinnati, The Dayton Art Institute, and also studied for a short period at the University of Cincinnati. Today, Jay has several pieces of artwork to his name and has widely sold his artistic works to a number of companies and individuals. Because of the high demand for his creative pieces, several galleries stock ready to mount framed Jay Zinn art while other galleries avail them in a variety of other finishing options. His goal and dream in life was to work for Disney someday as an animator. However, in 1971, his life took a different turn when he enlisted in the Air Force and became assigned to hospital administration. During his time in the military he joined a little Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and became “born again” in 1972. Jay and his wife now reside in the north Charlotte area of NC. They have two children who also live in the area and are successful in their careers. Jay’s youngest sister founded the Penny Lane Publishing Company and recruited him as one of her artists and had him design over a hundred images for her line. That’s how he got into the arts industry. He worked for her sister for 20 years, after which illustration became tedious to him and he began to lose interest in art. But at the encouragement of his son who suggested he tries his hand at doing contemporary art for outdoor living spaces, he found love in art again and has never looked back.
