Tim Oldford was born in the Canadian Prairies on a small farm. His hobby included pictures and it developed so much during his years in Canada. However, it was only when he moved to Victoria at the age of 15 that he took photography more seriously and transitioned to a professional artist. Today his art stands out in crowd because they give life to his subjects and give them a fresh new look. He says the Canadian Prairies was probably not the best starting point for a landscape photographer, but there’s nothing he could do. But Victoria was the best place for his work as a photographer and he fell in love with the beauty of the coast and the different subjects it exposed him to. He found it easy to work as an artist because earlier his father had taught him the basics of photography using his Word War II camera and he loved the magic that the camera possessed. His mother had also dragged him around to every gallery in Canada at a very tender age - his mother was a landscape artist, so she greatly influenced Oldford to become an artist. Photography became his medium of choice and he put more effort in learning it. He was a wide network of clients, and he’s happy that even if there are people who don’t know him, they can still connect with his photos and he finds that to be very gratifying. Framed Tim Oldford art hang on the walls of many prestigious buildings around the world.
