Maxine Johnston is a muralist and a fine art painter of still life. She was born and raised in Idaho but later moved to Arizona where she fell in love with the beauty of the southwest, its history and Indian Culture. She operated her own mural business in Arizona for 15 years, doing both residential and commercial commissions. Maxine served as president of the Board of Directors of the Scottsdale Artists' School and president of the Scottsdale Artists' League, where she has also conducted workshops. Her art developed from her passion and regard for what nature provides, the landscape, the beautiful objects, the attractive sceneries. Her painting evolved from her desire to represent the beauties of natural and man-made objects so that others can taste and enjoy the beauty of these man-made and natural things that surround us. Maxine is a signature member of the Oil Painters of America, a member of the American Society of Interior Designers, and the American Academy of Women Artists. She has worked for many years with architects, designers, individuals and corporations creating art for specific environments. She has exhibited in an international art show for the Art in Embassies Program, U.S. Embassy in Switzerland, and in many other places. Framed Maxine Johnston art are sold at high prices because of their attractiveness. One of her plates was marketed by Danbury Mint and she has also done prints for Marian Heath Card Company and Leanin' Tree. Maxine is represented by Milagro Gallery in Tucson, Christine of Santa Fe, and the Lyon Gallery in Scottsdale.
