Georgia Eider was born on the beautiful west coast of Canada in Vancouver. Her art career began around 1984. She attended Emily Carr college of Art and Design in Vancouver. For a short time, she worked as an art teacher, and it launched into an art career very quickly. Georgia started her career by painting textiles which she sold to craft markets and stores; which is something that she still does today. She worked as a self-employed textile designer for 25 years before she returned to making pictures. In her art, Georgia paints on canvas with acrylic paint. She also creates surface designs on fabric with dyes as well. She doesn't really have an all time favorite, she likes different piece at different times. She says that usually it is the last successful piece she has finished that she’s most fond of. She describes herself as a sucker for romance and she loves the natural world and natural things. Today, Georgia returns to her childhood love of painting, and she chooses subjects that inspire and delight and that are often light and charming but can be also serious and sublime. She doesn’t really have any things or rituals that get her into the creative zone. She finds that just stepping into a studio starts the process, it might not come easily, and sometimes it takes a long time to get into the creative zone. Framed Georgia Eider art usually have high price tags on them and are found with many leading collectors throughout the world.
