Framed Hat Art
People are diverse and they seek to showcase their ideas and originality in any way possible, with hats allowing them to fully express their creativity. FramedArt.com meets art lovers halfway by presenting them with some of the finest framed hat prints, authored by famous painters or modern artists.
Some hats are meant to showcase prominence and radiate elegance, others are simply geared towards usefulness, but all of them look great on canvas.
From ancient times, hats were used to make a distinction between different classes and many of those who wore them, regarded hats as more than fashion items. Classic painters frequently depicted members of the elite or nobility in elegant clothes and wearing pretentious headgear. Van Gogh’s Self Portrait with Grey Felt Hat is one of the most expensive paintings ever sold and it features the author wearing a fashionable hat, with a magnetic look in his eyes.
The passion for hats endured and as art changed, modern painters such as Modigliani crafted even more framed hat prints such as Jeanne Hebuterne. Art critics will notice the long face of the character which is specific for Modigliani and the unique eyes, but also the interesting hat. A more down-to-earth approach had Jack Sorenson, who celebrates the beauty of the great outdoors and the assiduous people who are diligently working the land. Best of Times and Afternoon Snooze radiate tranquility and invite people to meditate, but they also draw attention to the simple, yet elegant hats that the protagonists are wearing.
