Framed Gargoyle Artwork

When architects thought about decorating the structures recently erected they usually used angelic figures and beings of great beauty for this purpose. Having said this, there are plenty of instances where they did the exact opposite and chose seemingly tedious or frightening creatures. FramedArt.com has set up a collection of Framed Gargoyle Art dedicated to these grotesque creatures, but despite their menacing aspect they are actually doing a fine job at beautifying the structure.
Framed Gargoyle Art will highlight the beauty of the architectural elements, but there is more than meets the eye about them and they also serve a functional purpose. Back in the day, they were used to prevent rainwater from pouring down the walls and they also mitigated the risk of catastrophic rainstorms affecting the structure. The animals chosen are inspired by mythology and upon close inspection, one would realize that these are actually fearsome monsters.

Framed Gargoyle Art will also raise awareness about the French legend that was responsible for making these imaginary creatures popular. There are many similarities between gargoyles and dragons, with the former having wings like bats and occasionally the ability of breathing fire. In modern presentations as well as cinema, the gargoyles are frequently depicted as monsters that have can turn into stone when needed and lurk for prey. Modern structures are no longer using gargoyles for practical reasons and that’s why the only way of admiring these architectural elements of old times is through artwork.
