Framed Submarine Artwork
Operating the beneath sea level, submarines are used mostly for military purposes and are routinely called boats instead of ships. FramedArt.com has an impressive assortment of framed submarine prints, including some of the versions, but also the most modern boats in military fleets.
The first submarines were used in the First World War by several Navies and rose to prominence 30 years later, when the Germans used them extensively against British convoys.
The vast majority of framed submarine prints focus on the military versions, but they are also both used for civilian purposes. Marine science and exploration relies heavily on these vessels, which look different from those built and operated by the Navy. Many are modified to better serve their purposes, which usually consist of repairing undersea cables or salvaging precious cargo. Recently, submarines have been used for re-creation and specialists appreciate them for their role in undersea archaeology.
Framed submarine prints will highlight the cylindrical body of these bowls and the propeller at the rear, which help the vessel navigate. They come in different forms and sizes, ranging from small ones that can host one or two people and operate for just a couple of hours to massive vessels. Nuclear submarines, can spend months submerged and they are also featured with a broad spectrum of weapons, that makes them deadly. As long as they remain concealed underwater, they are a major threat for even the largest battleships and it all comes down to detection systems.
