About Canvas Art
Every canvas at FramedArt.com is made to order by our skilled canvas experts.
We custom build each canvas by hand in our warehouse using only the highest quality materials and equipment.
Our canvas transfer process is used when making a canvas from an existing print.
We start by heat pressing the print to the canvas.
Once the image is permanently on the canvas, it is then carefully stretched around hand assembled wooden bars.
Canvas art is also custom printed in house on many items.
This gives you the ability to further customize your canvas art by choosing from even more options - like painted sides, galley wrap and a variety of sizes.
Images printed directly on the canvas have vibrant colors and details that will give your art the look and feel of an original canvas as a fraction of the cost.

Custom Canvas Art
Gallery Wrapped Canvas Art
Gallery Wrap is a popular option for our printed canvas.
With this option, the sides of the canvas are printed with a mirror image of what you see on the front.
This creates a 3-D style gallery look that adds interest to your piece from all angles.
The sophisticated finish option is generally a good fit for abstract art, larger pieces of art and anything where the outside edge of the piece could be seamlessly printed around the edge as well.
Canvas Art with Painted Sides
Painted Sides are available on any of our canvas items.
The canvas is first stretched onto wooden bars, with the entire image visible on the front of the piece and the sides left blank.
The sides are then carefully painted with the color of your choosing and fully dried before being carefully packaged.
Painted sides are a great way to customize your art and add an additional pop of color to your walls.
Two Bar Depths
We offer two depths of bars for both gallery wrap canvas and canvas with painted sites.
We offer canvas bars at .75 inches, which is our default and most popular bar depth option and also 1.5 inches.
Our 1.5 inch bars are a thicker and more sturdy option for very large pieces but can be used on any size canvas that we offer.

Canvas Brushstrokes
Adding brushstrokes to your painting on canvas can complement it and make it look closer to the original painting.
When brushstrokes are ordered for a specific piece, a clear, acrylic gel is brushed onto the canvas piece.
The brushstroke artists follow the strokes of the piece to help recreate the feel from the original.
We offer standard brushstrokes as well as heavy brushstrokes.
As shown below, standard brushstrokes get a thin layer of gel whereas heavy brushstrokes get a thicker layer of the acrylic gel applied to the canvas to add more texture if desired.
Framed Canvas
Having trouble choosing between a canvas or frame finish?
You can do both! For framed canvas art, we will museum wrap your piece onto wooden bars and then finish with the frame of your choice.
Framed canvas does not have a glass or plexiglass cover so the texture of the canvas or brushstrokes can be fully appreciated.
Framing your canvas adds depth, dimension and sophistication to your canvas artwork.
Canvas Prints
When you order the canvas print option, it is the unstretched version of the canvas print.
For canvas prints, the artwork will come printed or laminated on a large canvas fabric.
We keep excess canvas space around each side of the print so the canvas can get stretched on the bars later.
This is the best option and often recommended for customers or businesses that possess the machinery that stretches the canvas.
The canvas print option comes with the artwork on adhered to the unstretched canvas.
The box does not include the canvas bars, materials needed to stretch or hang the canvas.
