The Hudson River is a river that flows mostly through New York and has a length of 315 miles. The river got its name after Henry Hudson, an English sailor that explored this river in 1609. The history of this great river got it a few names in the past, like “The Great Mohegan” by the Iroquois Indians and “The river that flows two ways” by the Lenape tribe that lived near this river in the past. The river starts in the mountains, flows through the Hudson Valley and ends up in the Atlantic Ocean, and is also used as a border between the states of New Jersey and New York.
