Hollywood Framed Art

Black-and-white Framed Hollywood Art serves as a silent reminder of how the small community looked like more than one century ago. Motion picture companies chose Los Angeles in an attempt of evading the problems associated to using patents held by one of Thomas Edison’s companies. The first movie was produced here in 1910 by DW Griffith and since then tens of thousands of films were shot here. By the end of the World War I the movie industry took off and was one of the largest industries nationwide.

High angle views of the cityscape reveal the modern buildings erected here, as well as the beautiful intra-coastal waterway with its elegant structures and green parks. Many images celebrating the arbor landscape have the sign in the background, which leaves no doubt about the place of where these photographs were taken.
