Unlike other actors that had to wait many years and even decades to rise to stardom, James Dean made the most of his early opportunities. In 1955, he assumed the role of Jim Stark in the film that ultimately made him an iconic actor in the United States and beyond borders. Rebel Without a Cause is still regarded as one of his best roles and many of the Framed James Dean Posters revolve around this role. His death in a terrible car crash ended his promising career, but with just three films under his belt, Dean still achieved things that many of his counterparts only dreamed of. He was nominated for an Oscar in the best actor category posthumously, the first time this happened and he is up to this day the only one to receive two such nominations after his death.
