Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States of America. He led the country during a bloody civil war and left a legacy that included the abolition of slavery, apart from George Washington or some of the more modern presidents he could be classed as the most iconic. People will always recognize a piece of framed Abraham Lincoln art.
Lincoln was a man with great morals, a smart man and one with many wise words. These words are often captured in framed Abraham Lincoln posters in motivational quotes and words that were aligned with his own morals, words like ‘Honesty, Freedom, Equality’. One of his most notable quotes was on determination; ‘If you are absolutely determined to make a lawyer of yourself, the thing is more than half done already.
There are of course the classical and traditional capturing in paint and paper. There framed Abraham Lincoln portrait paintings by George Peter Alexander Healy and George Henry Story. These would be the paint examples. The paper examples would include photos such as the ‘Gettysburg Address, 1863’ and of his ‘second inauguration speech, 1865’.
Abraham Lincoln is so prominent in America’s history that he was not simply captured in paper and print as framed Abraham Lincoln artwork, he was also cast in stone and metal. There is of course the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC where he sits upon a chair. There is also his face captured at a grander scale in Mt Rushmore. And of course, his profile features on the penny. While cast in three dimensions these monuments have been beautifully captured in photography too.
