Michael Willett Art

Michael Willett (Born 1984) was born in Tulsa, OK, but he currently lives and works in Birmingham, AL. He’s an experienced artist who’s also a teacher of art. Many of his works center on abstract compositions that embrace explosions, grid formations, astronomy and geometry. He holds a B.F.A. degree from the University of Montevallo and an M.F.A. from the University of Cincinnati. He’s a widely exhibited artist whose works have been shown at Tennessee Valley Museum of Art, Sweetwater Center for the Arts, Pittsburg, MCAC, Birmingham, AL, Edison College Gallery, Piqua, Bloch Hall Gallery, University of Montevallo, 1305 Gallery, Cincinnati, Trim Tab, Birmingham, O’Connor Art Gallery, Dominican University, Tennessee Valley Museum of Art, Adobe Books storefront installation, San Francisco, Bloch Hall Gallery, University of Montevallo, Meyers Gallery, University of Cincinnati, and Semantics Gallery, Cincinnati, to name just a few. To him, art is a connection that he has with his daughters, and it’s often his entertainment on weekends or on vacations. About the importance of art in his life, he says it’s just about everywhere; he teaches it, he exhibits it, he makes it, and he researches and learns from it. Currently, he’s the Director of Foundations and the Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Montevallo. Willett produces art in a variety of finishing options including framed Michael Willett art which can be found in many art stores all over the world. His art is also available in many online stores. Some of his works are mixed media with combination of acrylic, graphite, screen print and collage.
