Danka Weitzen lives high in the hills of Torino together with her husband, Guido Borelli who’s also artist. Her passions include spoiling their seven cats, gardening, painting, and cooking. Asked what she would do if she was not an artist, she said that she can be a writer, photographer, or to create handbags. Everyone knows that should she ever decide to craft and paint handbags, they would be the first standing in line to purchase one. In a way, Danka is both writer and photographer, practically telling her stories on canvas. Danka paints with her heart and also with her eyes. She captures her floral subjects so elegantly that those who view her art can almost smell the flowers’ fragrance and feel the soft petals. Danka was born in Lodz, Poland – his father was from Poland while her mother was Italian. The family moved to Torino, Italy when she was still a child and they settled in the Palazzo Reale di Torino. Although she renders her paintings realistically, her paintings have a very eye-catching are almost of surreal quality that attracts the viewer into her world. Framed Danka Weitzen art have the same effect on viewers. She had her first art exhibition in 1969 after she graduated from high school at Ars Plauda Gallery in Torino. Since her first exhibition, she has exhibited her work in Malta, United States, Egypt, Holland, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Spain, France, Portugal, Ethiopia, Switzerland, Romania, Kenya, and Costa Rica. Her art is in high demand because of their quality.
