Walter Myers (Born 1958) was born in southern Indiana. He currently resides in the Chicago area, and is a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. His work has been published in magazines, books, websites, posters, CDs/DVDs, television, and framed for gallery showings. He’s represented by Stocktrek Images, a central source for images of modern day military operations, the universe, healthcare & medicine imagery, highly detailed prehistoric era illustrations, and stunning underwater photography. Myers loved art since his childhood and for as long as he can remember he used to enjoy drawing, especially pictures of monsters and dinosaurs. He became captivated with astronomy in 1965 at the age of 7. This was after he came across a single volume from an encyclopedia set for children which featured illustrations of the planets of the Solar System. Later on, Myers became concerned about realism in space art, and he preferred the science-based and objective photorealism over expressionism. In 1968 he was lucky to see A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick when it was released in the original format. The year 2001 finely tuned his interest in space exploration and also the appreciation for the beauty of ethereal wildernesses. Initially he worked in acrylics, oil paints, pencil, and water colors, but today, he works exclusively in computer graphics that he creates on standard desktop computers. His distribution continues to expand as he adds striking new images on a regular basis. Myers offers high-quality and professionally printed wall prints for business décor or for personal use. They come mainly as framed Walter Myers art.
