Stephen Vaughan has been a motion picture still-photographer for more than 3 decades. His becoming a photographer was unplanned. He shot a photo of Marcel Marceau for a theater magazine and when it was developed, Vaughn was stunned at its beauty. He then started taking any job offered with the belief that he’d fix it or figure it out in the darkroom. He never had an easy start. He would read books, borrow equipment and make calls to ensure that everything he was doing was right. It didn’t take him long before he became a professional in photography and even became a founding member of The Society of Motion Picture Still Photographers. He became passionate about photography and always had a camera with him. He has participated in group exhibitions at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Fototeca de Cuba, and Armand Hammer Museum Sales and Rental Gallery Exhibition, and G. Ray Hawkins Gallery. He has also participated in solo exhibitions at Barriere Normandy Hotel, Deauville Film Festival and at Galerie Photo12, Paris, France. Before becoming a photographer he worked for 30 years as an editor for a newspaper business – The Orlando Sentinel - where he first worked as a sports editor, then as a managing editor and finally, from 1980 to 1992, he worked as an executive editor. Vaughan is dedicated to his work and produces high quality images. That’s why framed Stephen Vaughan art are very popular with many collectors. A partial list of his credits includes The Salton Sea, The Cider House Rules, The Hollow Man, Starship Troopers, Face/Off, The Fugitive, Mixed Nuts - (LA), Lethal Weapon 3, Malice, Hudson Hawk, The Last Boyscout, Days of Thunder, and The Fisher King – (LA).
