Louis Van Houtte (Born 1810) loved art from a very young age. He used to produce beautiful and attractive pieces of art that stunned many viewers. This made many people encouraged him to consider taking art as a career. Van Houtte never disappointed because he managed to create a successful career as a professional artist and his art has been accepted by many Galleries around the world. It is believed that Van Houtte had created a nursery in Brussels before 1834, and this was the very year that the artist left the country to collect rare plants for the Brussels’ Botanic Garden and for a rich amateur. Van Houtte studied in France in a field that was related to economics and worked there for a while. In the 1830s, during the Belgian Revolution, he fought the troops sent by the Netherlands Kings to defeat the mutineers in Brussels. It was during this time that he met Rogier Charles who soon became the secretary of state. His work is rich in color and brisk energy and that’s the way he liked it. Van Houtte was open to learning and he visited museums, art galleries and shows where he learned from the works of other artists. Currently, his art is on display in several places around the world – including galleries, institutions, museums, homes and public places. The artist drew and painted from his mind's eye, his heart, and from the recollections of his subjects. Framed Louis Van Houtte art are very popular with art collectors.
