Malcolm Surridge Art

Malcolm Surridge (Born in 1952) was born into an artistic family. In fact he comes from a long line of artists whose ancestry can be traced back to Wilson Richard, a well-known English “romantic” painter of the 18th century. Surridge has a way of creating art that appeal to the emotions of his viewers. In most cases, viewers will stand to have a second look at his art. His aim is to make the viewer feel as if they are part of his compositions. That’s why the demand for his art is high and is ever growing, more specifically that framed Malcolm Surridge art. He has made a name for himself and has attracted a large number of very loyal fans worldwide who are always on the lookout for his new pieces of art. He creates bright, vivacious pastel paintings that mainly focus on the English and Mediterranean themes. He enjoys using strong color, atmospheric effects and lighting to transform simple object into the whimsical and magical. He studied at the Wimbledon School of Art and the City of London Polytechnic before embarking on a career as freelance illustrator and artist. He does book-jacket illustrations, and has produced work for films, museums and television, and has painted murals for many commercial companies and more recently, as a Lecturer in Art and Design. His works have been exhibited in various galleries in the South East and in London. Surridge has loved art all his life and can not imagine doing something different.
