Mary G. Smith is an artist from Canada. Her works reflect companion dogs, all the innocence and charm of children at play, and the warmth of family life. She has created a world for herself, where life is taken at a pace that’s more leisurely. Viewers can enjoy a feast for their eyes as they wander through her virtual gallery. This is where she uses her loving brush strokes to elevate ordinary objects into extraordinary and stunning pieces of art. Whatever her viewers’ interests are, whether it’s children at play, hockey, still life, dogs, or simply beautiful vistas, they’re sure to find something to warm their heart and bring a smile to their faces. Dogs and children are a fascination for her in their every day mishaps, quirks and yes, even waywardness, and she loves to depict all of these on her canvas. Mary lives in Niagara Falls, Ontario, with her four children, husband, and three dogs. She has depicted all of them lovingly in some of her paintings at one point or another, devoted and willing victims of her brush strokes. Mary is primarily a self-taught artist. She started painting only as a hobby using acrylics. That’s when her fourth child started school and to her amazement, she found that people enjoyed them so much she decided to show them publicly. Both acrylics and oils have become her medium of choice and in future there’s the possibility of her venturing into figurines and collector plates. Her originals are now sold through Westmount Gallery in Toronto. Framed Mary G. Smith art are used mainly for decorative purposes.
