Edward Selkirk (Born 1961) is a former pilot turned photographer and painter. He was born in Birmingham and he loved art from a tender age. His eye-catching designs are heavily influenced by his travels. Selkirk was introduced to painting at an early age by his family. He offers a versatility of styles colors and techniques. Working with digital media, acrylic water-color, and his sharp designs as well as bold color statements are a beautiful addition to any home. Before becoming an artist he worked in the hospitality world for 4 years. He was hoping to be discovered on the job by drawing on receipts, napkins or anything he could get his pen on. He first knew that he wanted to be an artist the first time he went to the Gugenheim Museum; he just loves Frank Lloyd Wright. His career in art began when he got extra tips from clients that appreciated the art he would leave on their paper table clothes or napkins. But his very first commission work was while he was in his early 30's. His work progressed very fast as he submitted some art to a stock site several ago and got bit by the commercial art bug. Selkirk put more and more art work to the public to help him perfect his art. He took critique from social media and bettered himself. Selkirk has tried all types of painting styles, and would love to do more collage work in the future. His greatest inspiration for art is his imagination! He thinks about the endless ways to adapt a subject on canvas or to paper.
