Barry Seidman Art

As a child, Barry Seidman would carefully arrange his food and vegetables around his plate.  One of his uncles would chide him and suggest he takes a picture so it would last longer!  He took the challenge and actually ended up making a living by taking pictures of food. He ended up specializing in still-life photography and has worked for some of the leading brands in the world. This has made him to expand his work to include celebrity photography and he’s also directing TV commercials. His first job was in 1978 in the mail room of an advertising firm.  He later moved to the mat room and soon was appointed to be an assistant to the art director.  While at work in the office one day, someone just popped in and asked if anyone knew how to use the camera. He didn’t know how to use a camera, but he tried and he became the internal house photographer. Seidman grew up in New York where the advertising business had taken root and this molded him to become one of the leading advertising print media photographers in New York. His work has been recognized by many awards among them Addys, Tellys, Clios, and the Art Directors Club Award. His fine art exhibitions have included: Aperture Art; Bagged; Selections from Six; Three Sides of Seidman; Excerpts; Me, Now; Handscapes; Drinks and Smoke; Feast for the Eyes and New Eyes. Today framed Barry Seidman art adorn the walls of many buildings around the world.
