Scott T. Smith’s favorite subject is the natural world. Before he became a photographer, Smith worked as a research meteorologist but his heart was always in photography. When he got his first camera in 1979 he realized that he had been missing a lot and began taking photos on his outdoor adventures to share with friends and family. He decided to quit his job and is today a full-time freelance photographer. He has been a photographer since 1988 when he quit his job. He learned by himself how to take and produce photos but looking at his images today, they compete well with those of trained artists. That’s why he’s represented by Danita Delimont. Smith is known for his images of architecture, cityscapes, outdoor lifestyle, travel, landscapes, cityscapes, natural history, tourism, wildlife, agriculture, and highly-powered sports. His images have appeared in advertising, calendars, text and trade books, and in magazines, including Audubon, Alaska, Outside, National Geographic Traveler, and Sunset. In 2000, Smith was selected as a participant in Daybreak 2000, and even in which 115 photographers from around the world were invited and were given 24 hours in January 2000. Here, they were given the opportunity to capture their first images of the new millennium. Today, Smith lives in Utah's Cache Valley with his wife Mary, 4 spoiled cats and several pack llamas. When not working on their new house, he can be found taking photographs. Ready to hang Scott T. Smith art are highly priced by many discriminating collectors.
