Virginia A. Roper (Born 1973) was born in New York City. He’s a freelance painter and illustrator based in NYC but was raised in Richmond. His parents were both artists, and they encouraged his creativity and he therefore spent a great deal of time drawing. He has been making art for almost as long as she has been alive. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Communication Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work has a range of styles, from abstract to fantasy to realism. Roper graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 1995 where he specialized in silk-screening and illustration. After graduation, he began as a storyboard revisionist for MTV Animation, and worked with various ad agencies as a freelance artist. Later he was able to exercise more personal and creative styles while shifting into the world of visual art and packaging related to music. His current medium of choice is to use washes, either watercolor or oil, over top of pencil or ink. He now creates record covers and music merchandise for a wide variety of bands including Grand Magus, High on Fire, Sleep, Howlin' Rain, Buzzoven, Earth, and Sunn O, and as well as more ordinary acts like The Black Crowes. Roper has also designed screen-printed hand-made posters for a number of events and concerts and in the process he has netted some of the most esteemed clients from around the world. This has made framed Virginia A. Roper art to be highly regarded by many discriminating collectors.
