Red Art and prints
In the business world, red is considered a power color and the same holds true in the art world for this color. Framed red artwork makes a statement and makes people take notice. It is a warm color that draws the eye and captures the heart making it feel the power of the piece.
Red is the color of love and Alfred Gockel captured that perfectly in his painting “Romance in Red II. Loui Jover is another artist that captured love in a framed red painting titled “Red Umbrella” that pictures a couple in what appears to be a passionate kiss under the umbrella. 1930s painter Georgia O’Keeffe did two great red paintings during her career titled “Red Cannas” and “Red Amaryllis” which are both still quite popular.
Being the attention getter that it is the color red is often used in real advertising and in framed red art advertising replicas. Some great examples of the use of red in the advertising format are, “Porto Pitters” by Leonetto Cappiello, “Pug Tennis Club” by Stephen Fowler, and “Last Call Pub” by Robert Downs.
Red is a color that can go many different ways and one of those ways is definitely fun. Many artists use the color to have fun and create works that are fun for lovers of art. Some artists that like to have fun with the color red are, Tracy Flickinger, Inna Panasenko, Karen Bezuienhout, and Yuko Lau. Red is also a very big color when it comes to abstract art because it gives the piece so much power and makes it more alive.
