Ramon Pujol (Born in 1947) was born in Olot, Spain. His family recognized early talent as a gifted artist and encouraged him with clear acceptance. From that early age, his favorite toys were colors and paintbrushes. He says that an artist born is made and evolves. As such, Pujol’s first academic training was at an art school. From the training he received, he was granted the opportunity to study under Luis Carbonell and later Barnadas, Collellmir and Gussinye from whom he received masterful teachings. He admires the styles of many different artists like Toulouse-Lautrec, Gauguin, Cezanne, and especially Manet and Monet. Although Pujol’s main influence is nature, he considers these artist as his great influencers as they made him to change his painting style. Through studying their works, he began to reveal a deep interpretation and understanding of light, depth and atmosphere with this change in his painting style. His style is meticulous and renders a level of distinction that sets his work apart from other painters. This has made him to receive gold medals at the International Salon in Evain, France, and the Autumn Salon in Marseille, France, in addition to countless awards in Spain, his native country. His art is available in a variety of finishing options including framed Ramon Pujol art which come ready to hang. He believes that it is important for the viewer and the artist to share a common bond when they are looking at a painting. That’s why he chooses subjects that appeal to the viewers’ hearts and emotions.
