Maria Pezzano produces art that’s heavily decorated with patterns. Her new works are a direct result of the work that people associate her with. She likes the viewer to feel to be part of her art and to feel that they have actually seen the subjects or visited the scenes captured. What has happened now is that patterns have become her main focus. And the color palette has changed to deep rich colors. She brings a unique balance of creativity combined with function to every project. She’s also using mixed media such as acrylic medium, bees wax, and paper. And this results in a rich, heavily layered, deep, piece. When she started her latest series she was using old batik blocks but currently, she enjoys creating her own designs and carving them out herself. Some of her skills include typography, design software, communication, visual ideation/creativity, multi-media design software (such as Acrobat), color theory, layout/conversion optimization and paint design. The recent software application knowledge together with many years of fine art practice giver her unique edge. Her art is suitable for a range of NGO, documentary, and editorial outlets. Maria’s interest in art began at a tender age. It was during this time that she learned to appreciate the beauty of nature and the power of art as a visual form of communication, and painting as a means of artistic expression.
