Greg Perkins studied at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, and while there, he developed an appreciation for abstract art. He prides himself in raising the most ordinary of objects to iconic levels through his unique style. By using this style he leads a viewer along trails blazed by his own curiosity to discover what has always been there, but was until now unseen. He finds much of his inspiration in Atlanta where he currently resides, and also while on art retreats to Florida and New Mexico. He says that for many artists, abstraction is spontaneous, but his is thoroughly planned before being executed. In the course of his work, he has learnt the ability to control light and use it to evoke emotion by setting the mood. Much of Perkins’ art, especially the framed Greg Perkins art, are still highly precise and are highly priced by many discerning collectors. The artist has also found a way of creating abstract pieces using the same technique. He’s pleased with her current work, but he’s always searching, both within and outwardly, to see where this journey is going to take him. Perkins likes to take his time, and then offers his client various options and then advises them on how to make a choice. It is this sensibility that has made his work to be popular and of great value to commercial clients. He grew up in Bloomington, MN, and at a young age, he was fascinated with architecture, and was and still is also keen to detail.
