When compiling a list of the great French painters of 20th century art history, one would be remiss without including a thorough section on Claude Monet. His beloved Impressionist style, largely a style of his own creating, is frequently cited in the painting world and used as an example of French art in the late 1800s. And of Monet’s many numerous works, few are so well-beloved as those which have in recent times contributed to the ever growing collection of pieces known as
framed Monet gardens artwork.
Several of Monet’s floral themed Impressionist works—and, as a result, those pieces which are counted amoung the ranks of
framed Monet garden paintings--were those in his series featuring water lilies or bridges over shallow rivers. Even those who are unfamiliar with Monet have likely seen his “Le Pont Japonais”—the Japanese Bridge—or “Water Lily Pond, 1899 (blue)”.
