Alloyius Mcilwaine Art

Alloyius Mcilwaine is a self-taught artist who was born and raised in Philadelphia. He has been creating art since he was a child. He discovered a love for art at the age of three, and by attempting to duplicate comic book images, he began o develop a talent for drawing. As he came of age, Mcilwaine began to study a variety of art forms...including comic book art, traditional art, abstract, graffiti, among others. He also works with many different mediums, including: Acrylic, Spray Paint, Stencils, Watercolors, 3-D Paint, Pens, Oil Paints, Markers, Pencils, Pastels, Colored Pencils, Wheat Paste-Ups, Charcoal, and more. Soon, when he began to develop sketches of his art on clothing, the seed was planted for the creation of Cultures Clothing Company. He founded the Cultures Clothing Company in the year 2000. It is a t-shirt company where Mcilwaine creates customized, hand-painted, t-shirt designs. He started the company as a way of making some extra cash while attending Neumann University. As he continued working here, his love for fashion grew and he began to appreciate fashion design as another form of art. The artist began to study different types of fashion, from art couture to urban to high fashion. This knowledge helped him to expand his clothing line into what it is today. Mcilwaine’s strong interest in comic books and hip-hop music lends itself to creating colorful, bold abstract paintings that are reminiscent of street art and graffiti. The fact that he owns a clothing line has made framed Alloyius Mcilwaine art to be very popular.
