Montserrat Masdeu Art

Artist Montserrat Masdeu (Born in 1947) was born in Barcelona, Spain. Throughout her childhood and school age she apprenticed with and assisted painter Victor Ripaux Esteban. Montserrat also attended the Barcelona Baixas Academy. Here she was preparing for her entry to the School of Fine Arts and Crafts in Barcelona. She subsequently studied at Massana School in Barcelona, a very prestigious school of art. In 1974, after completing her studies, she has participated in numerous art exhibitions throughout Spain, Argentina, Russia, France, Italy, UK, the United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia and Paraguay. Montserrat established the Art School of Barria in Barcelona in 1983. Five years later, she was selected to represent Landscapes of Catalonia (“Paisajes de Cataluña”) in Madrid, Caja de Madrid, Aranjuez. Additionally, she was commissioned to complete a collection of works for the University of California in Berkeley. Montserrat has participated in several television interviews and programs concerning the arts, and has been featured in solo and group exhibitions. Her aim is to pass on to the viewer the feelings evoked by the situations and places which she loves so intensely. Her works have appeared in numerous private and public collections, as well as in museums of Central America, Japan, South Europe, and the United States. Many collectors prefer to stock the ready to hang framed Montserrat Masdeu art because their demand is high. No matter what the setting, the artist always manages to instill a particular sensibility into her paintings that attract the attention of the viewers.
