Lori Maphies Art

Lori Maphies was born and raised in northern Missouri. She grew up in a creative family and this inspired her to paint and draw. She now resides in the mountains of Colorado with her two children and husband. Her art can be used to decorate any space; that’s why framed Lori Maphies art are popular with people from all walks of life and of all age brackets; more so because they come ready to hang with custom made frames. Much of her work these days is done on a commission basis, and she welcomes inquiries. Lori is basically a self-taught artist and paints the things that are close to her heart: gardening, Americana and snowmen. Being from the Midwest the artist strives to achieve a primitive feeling in her paintings and finds the beauty in old things. She has developed a unique style that she uses to produce high quality works with layers that help convey her inner feelings about her subject matter. She started her first business when she was 18 years old hand painting clothing while attending college. She earned a degree in Travel and Tourism Management, but she continued on her creative path of designing. Her images resonate well with a diverse group of collectors and viewers of all ages. She has managed to pull a huge following of fans. She uses her art to communicate with her viewers but leaves the interpretation for them. Lori enjoys yoga, gardening, collecting antiques, skiing and spending time with her family.
