Vaan Manoukian (Born 1968) is a Yerevan born artist. He loved art from a young age and his talent was noticed by those who were close to him. He was encouraged to pursue art as a career by his friends. Manoukian didn’t disappoint. He embarked on a long artistic journey that saw him become a professional artist. His apprenticeship took 12 years after which he attended two Art schools, studying for a total of 8 years. After his studies he went to Museum of Folk Art for his internship that took 3 years.
During this time, Manoukian had the opportunity to work in several artistic environments and to interact with some of the leading artists. These, together with his artistic passion, enabled him to develop his unique style. Manoukian has produced thousands of original pieces of artwork where he combines unique mixed media with modern abstract paintings of innovative techniques and digital mediums. He has participated in 7 solo exhibitions and 11 group exhibitions in Russia, Armenia, Estonia, Italy and the US. Manoukian likes media exploration and is a keen observer of all aspects of nature. That’s what triggers his originality. His images are highly recommended for all home decor and home accessory uses, paper products, wall decor, and, of course giftware of all kinds. Framed Vaan Manoukian art appealed to Pope John Paul II, who asked his Council to choose one of them for a permanent installation in Vatican Modern Art Museum. 'The Nativity and the Adoration of the Magi' was chosen by the council, and Manoukian personally presented the painting to the Pope on February 16, 1994.
