Artist Christina Long was born in Chicago and brought up in Metro Detroit. Her ability to use the traditional artist materials, while keeping a hand in a contemporary style has enabled her to come up with a unique and esthetically pleasing technique. Christina studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from where she graduated in 2012 with a MFA in Printmaking. After her marriage she now signs her work as Christina Baker. The artist is inspired by life’s ever-changing environment. Being a self-taught artist, she’s very flexible as she prefers to choose a different technique for each particular piece to ensure that she produces the best. Her medium of choice is Acrylics but she occasionally picks up additional elements of mixed media when necessary. Christina is also a violinist for New York City’s New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra. She has been heavily involved in the Metal community for more than 10 years, so she cares about promoting the many women of color who are fans of heavy music genres. Christina and her younger brother and sister have been running quarterly zine #BLKGRLSWURLD since 2013. The three are known as Trifecta Studios and they combine their efforts to ensure that theur clients get the best. The zine is free to download online. Being young African-American metalheads, they share their passion of the Metalcore music genre, they also host open calls for art and prose and share footage from live shows. Framed Christina Long art sell in large number because they are attractive.
