Jennifer Lommers was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Her love of the outdoors and art began at a young age. She used to camp and hike every summer and draw and paint animals, often using her "Ranger Rick" magazines and her Birds of the Northwest manual as reference. Jennifer specializes in Acrylic Paintings: Birds, Floral, Sea, Still Life Images, and Modern and Abstract Landscape. She studied art at the University of Washington and received her B.F.A. in 1992. She was tutored by the late Eugene Pizzuto and by a group of distinguished and talented painting professors. He studies did not stop there, in 1995, she went ahead to study for an Art Education Certification at Western Washington University.
Jennifer paints from observation and from memory. She likes to layer thick and thin applications of acrylic paint and to focus on the variety of color and texture in combination within the natural forms of her compositions. She also loves to use acrylic "image transfers” from her own drawings to bring more complex elements into her paintings. Jennifer is interested in making her viewers to be able to see and identify the various elements of her painting without concern for photographic reality. That’s why she gives them a vivid glimpse of the moment, much as their own emotions and memory may capture it. Though she trained in oils, acrylics provide her with a more fitting material for her methods. Framed Jennifer Lommers art are highly priced by many collectors due to their quality.
