Chuck Larivey (Born 1941) was born in Buffalo, New York. He returned to oil painting in 2009, March. His early interest in the Masters is can be seen in his sensitive approach to form, color and light which has evolved somewhere between impression and classical. Though he had some formal training, he’s regarded as self-taught, and his paintings are typically large scale covering a wide range of subject matter. Larivey is a daily painter who explores the merging of water and light on canvas. He’s has developed his unique style and says it’s a fascination he’ll spend the rest of his time as an artist pursuing and adds that if his artwork evokes an emotion, and his experience as an artist is shared through his artwork, then life becomes worthwhile. Many of his paintings are developed from his en Plein air studies and photos that he takes during these sessions. His favorite plein air subject is the sun in the morning and in the evening - the first and last 15 minutes of the sun. His recent exhibits include Glave/Kocen Gallery, Peninsula Fine Art Center, Rich Timmons Fine Art, Richmond Plein Air - Brazier Gallery, and Richard Stravitz Fine Art Gallery, among others. His remarkable use of light is a joy to his viewers. His art offers a sense of energy that is truly charming. His art has a visual impact that is heightened by the painterly marks on canvas that he delicately balances. Framed Chuck Larivey art are available in many stores around the world.
