Thomas LaDuke (Born 1963) was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the California State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. LaDuke has displayed at New Work, CRG Gallery, New York, Candles and Lasers, Kohn Gallery, Los Angeles, CRG Gallery at UNTITLED, San Francisco, CRG Gallery at EXPO CHICAGO, CRG Gallery at Art Basel in Miami Beach, Kohn Gallery at Art Basel in Miami Beach, and CRG Gallery at Expo Chicago. Since 2001 he has had four solo exhibitions, all at the Angles Gallery in Los Angeles. His art is unique and easily recognizable. He deploys labor-intensive and meticulous processes in the creation of his hyper-realistic sculptures and paintings. Many new artists look upon his art as a source of inspiration. He has had a life long ambition to be a professional artist, and has directed all his energy towards achieving this dream. He uses delicate materials making his sculptress to replicate objects as seen in the 2010 Flemish Veil, where he recreated the cracks in a painting using arm hair and eyelashes. He has managed to achieve this dream in such a manner that he has launched an international market for his originals and reproductions. Over the years he has built a name for himself as one of the best artists in Holyoke, Massachusetts and beyond. In his technique, he demonstrates a great depth of understanding, vision and feeling. LaDuke applies 4 distinct layers of paint to the canvas, and this is what has made his art to be very attractive, especially when framed as the framed Thomas LaDuke art.
