Barry Kite Art

Barry Kite is a collage artist based in St. in Daytona Beach. He recently relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area and is currently working from his Aberrant Art Gallery. His work has been published in several calendars and in three books by Pomegranate Publications. He has also self-published his line of note cards under his studio name, Aberrant Art, since 1992. Over the past 20 years Kite has sold prints of his works and originals at art fairs in thirty states and in Europe. His clients consist mostly of art supply stores, art museum gift shops, and bookstores. Before he went to the East Coast, Kite has operated and owned three galleries in the San Francisco area. His studio tag line is: 'sick, weird, twisted, deranged’, ‘Not Your Smarmy Feel-Good Crap!' as well as Called the 'King of Montage.’ He has sold over 40,000 originals and prints over the past thirty years and has appeared in his own documentary film called 'Aberrant Artist.’ The film won the 'Blue Herring' award. Kite’s work is not to make money but to make a point. His artwork makes people to think as it plays with their perception of well-known art. He manipulates the concept, and on one level, the original art ceases to exist but a piece that stirs people’s feelings and emotions. He continues to create his Aberrant Art, finding huge success with mouse pads, posters and greeting cards, jigsaw puzzles and even T-shirts and calendars.
