Thomas William Jones (Born in 1942) was born and raised in Bay Village, Ohio. He’s known for marine paintings and landscape with structures. Jones is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art. He currently lives near Seattle in Washington State at Snohomish. Jones is known for his rural America watercolor scenes that harkens back to a time of peaceful-appearing farms and scenic back roads. His subjects are from the New England, Northwest and Midwest. His style has been described as impressionism that’s representational. Even though he trained at the Cleveland Institute of Art in Ohio, he considers himself as self taught. He has held exhibitions at Western Heritage Museum Denver, Howard Portnoy Gallerie Carmel, Frye Art Museum Seattle, Colorado Heritage Museum Denver, University of Washington Seattle, Prix de West Invitational Oklahoma City, National Academy of Western Art, just to name a few. Framed Thomas William Jones art are found in almost all corers of the world. They can be found darning the walls of prestigious galleries, buildings, homes and institutions. In fact the images of his paintings have also been used on Christmas cards of the White House. An exhibition of 30 years of his work took place at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, in 1990. Jones has distinguished himself as one of the best artists in the world. He attributes his success to his talent and to those who have supported him along the way including the many friends and fellow artists. He has received numerous awards including Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters, Rocky Mountain Watermedia Award, Bronze Medal of Honor, American Watercolor Society award, etc.
