Albena Hristova was born in Bulgaria, Europe. She was born in a family of artists and started painting when she was only 4 years old. She has twelve years of classical art education, including a master degree in mural painting. Immediately after her graduation, she created several large murals. However, when she fell from high scaffolding her venture in world of mural art ended and she decided to move to the safer grounds of mixed media, canvas and oil techniques. She had her first solo show in 1987 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The show was very successful and she began to show her artwork around Europe, mostly at Art Basel where all her paintings were always sold out on opening day. Later on Albena and her family decided to move to South California, USA. During the first few years in South California, she had several solo shows in Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington, DC. During this period Albena sold many of her originals and in the process, she realized that only a few people had access to her art. She had to do something because her ambition and vision was to touch as many people as it was possible in her lifetime. She knew that a new and different channel was needed to realize her dreams. So in 2000 she ventured into the world of art publishing. She met the owners of Wild Apple in New York and started to work with them. Today her art is found all over the world, more so the framed Albena Hristova art.
