Steven Hill has studied with many contemporary artists including: Richard McKinley, Desmond O’Hagan, Teresa Saia, Susan Ogilvie, Bob Phinney, Susan Bennerstrom and Cathe Gill, since 2001. He teaches painting workshops in the United States and abroad. Hill has been an artist since the day he picked-up his first crayons and pencils, making marks on most surfaces he could come across. He knew that he would b an artist and has successfully managed to become one. He’s currently showing at Windswept Gallery, Lopez Island, Agora Gallery, Chelsea Coos Art Museum, Coos Bay, Crow Valley Gallery, Orcas Island, and Art on the Boulevard, Vancouver. Formerly, he used to exhibit at Woman Of Steel Gallery, Boise, Gottlieb Gallery, Portland, Scott Milo Gallery, Anacortes, and River Stone Gallery, Ennis. Making art was the foundation that allowed him to survive high school, college and the United States Army, where he became an illustrator. In the late 90's, he sold his graphic design business to paint full-time, and he says this has proven to be totally rewarding. He’s received many prestigious honors and won many art awards over the past decade. His professional affiliations include Seattle Art Museum (American Art Council member), Plein Air Painters of Washington, The Lopez Artists’ Guild, The Northwest Pastel Society (signature member and past president), American Society of Marine Artists, and the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters. Framed Steven Hill art come ready to hang and are attractive enough to be used in decorating any space. His art is availed in a variety of finishing options.
