Thomas Haney Art

Entirely self-taught artist, Thomas Haney was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He lived in Austin Texas until the age of 18 when he graduated from high school. After his graduation from high school, he went to college in Arizona. Haney’s photography career began when he was only 15 years old, and the inspiration was born out of a strong love of the natural world. He has never had a teacher or taken a photography course, yet his work has won awards in many of the top wildlife photography competitions in the world. Whoever looks at his art today can not believe that Haney is a self-taught artist. His art has been emerging the best in competitions where there are hundreds of professional competitors some of whom are graduates of the top universities in the world. In 2014, Haney got the first price at the Windland Smith Rice International competition. This competition attracted 25,000 entries and he was the winner in the Outdoor Adventure category. In the same year, he was also the Travel Photographer of the Year. In 2015, he won in the Share The Experience Photography Contest in the Adventure category which attracted 26,000 entries. He was also highly honored in the Oasis Photo Contest, the Asferico International Photography Competition, and the Memorial Maria Luisa competition. In 2016 he won the Yellowstone Forever Photography Contest in the Landscapes category and also received an Honorable Mention for the same. Today, framed Thomas Haney art are in great demand all over the world. His art has been displayed in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington, D.C. and in the Natural History Museum of London.
