Roberto Gonzalez (Born 1948) was born in Monforte de Lemos (Lugo). He studied in Madrid at the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts between 1969 and 1974. Gonzalez is a professional painter but he also juggles with photography, technological creations, and graphic design, and has taken part in several individual and group digital art exhibitions. In 1977, the artist moved to Edinburgh and some years later he started to alternate his stay between Edinburgh and Madrid. Gonzalez, whose style varies between realism and conceptualism, was first interested in painting as a way of expressing his feelings and thoughts, but he developed his art into a career. He has extended his boundaries and serves many clients including private and corporate organizations and even individuals. Some of the private and public collections currently housing Gonzalez’s include: Zamora House of Culture, Cincinnati Art Gallery, AT & T Art Collection in New York, Argentaria Foundation, the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts, Edinburgh City Art Centre, Skopje Gallery of Modern Art, among others. In 1967 his first solo exhibition was organized by The Artes Gallery of A Coruña. In the years that followed he has exhibited in several other galleries, including Kelvingrive Art Gallery of Glasgow, Splinter Gallery (London), Pardo Bazan Gallery (A Coruña), GPS Gallery (Glasgow), Dieciseis Gallery (San Sebastian), Anderson Gallery (Massachusetts), 500 Gallery (New Jersey), Galerie Etienne de Causans (Paris), Smlik & Stokking Gallery (The Hague), Rob Gallery (Amsterdam), Gallery 20 (Brighton), and Henderson Gallery (Edinburgh). Framed Roberto Gonzalez art has caused a lot of excitement among collectors.
