Sally Gall (Born in 1956) was born in Washington, D.C. She has photographed the mystery and beauty of the natural world for more than 30 years. She captures the basic and sometimes horrifying aspects of nature - its persistence, its silence. To immerse viewers in a bodily and intuitive contemplation of nature and the human place within it, she’s taken as subjects cultivated fields, swimmers, gardens, the twilight zone in caves, jet contrails and power lines, tiny creatures, and blossoming trees. She photographs with an ever deepening appreciation for how the world shapes human beings, even as the human beings also shape it with their passage. She attended Reed College from where she received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1978. After her graduation, she settled in Houston, Texas. In addition to her fine art career, Sally is also a teacher of photography, and she also works as an advertising and editorial lifestyle and landscape photographer. Her work, especially the ready to hang Sally Gall art are in great demand today, and they are in numerous corporate collections and museums. Sally has received several prestigious awards. Sally has more than 25 years history of group and solo shows at galleries and museums. She has had more than 8 solo exhibitions at the Julie Saul Gallery in New York City. She’s maintained her interest in landscape as she believes this is where her gift and talent lies. Sally emphasizes different aspects of nature through her various series.
